Mr. Ashford was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Victoria. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a retired apartment maintenance technician and a member of the Assembly of God Church. Robert's hobbies included photography, collecting railroad date nails and stamps and he enjoyed county music.
Survivors: Daughters, Molly Ellen Kruse of Tucson, Ariz., Pandora Hibler of Aledo and Mary Jo Miner of Fort Worth; sons, Carl Thomas Ashford of Fort Worth, Robert Ronald Ashford of Springtown and William Donald Ashford of Aledo; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
